Cats Under the Stars: Indian Nights

This Cats Under the Stars is set against the backdrop of a sultry Indian night. The base is crushed green velvet, which changes vibrancy depending on how the light hits. It can be bright and magnetic, or it can be dark and mysterious. The color will shift as you walk past this piece.

The cat is a patch, elevated to give the art depth. It was crafted with 20 different fabrics and sewn together using gold metallic thread, which compliments the gold stars overhead.

The base of this piece consists of an intricate lace whose points are dotted with soft green gemstones. The vision here was a majestic skyline.

This art is housed in an 18x24 walnut box frame, which I inlaid with glass mosaic tile in diverse brown and golden tones. The artist’s signature is tucked in the bottom right corner, beneath a wave in the lace.
