Our Lady Bertha: The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion
16x20 box frame; SOLD
This Bertha is named based on her resemblance to religious iconography, particularly Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Mexican manifestation of the Virgin Mary who boasts a luminous aura.
The Bertha is a patch, cut from a white sparkle fabric and meticulously stitched on my sewing machine. She is laid atop a bright gold foil, appropriate for her regal stature. I created the mosaic border using glass and mirror tiles in gold, soft red, pink, orange, and yellow hues—a nod to the Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion.
She is adorned with paper flowers, her traditional ribbon being replaced by a green vine to signal her connection to the earthly realm.
This art is housed in an 16x20 black box frame. The artist’s signature has been placed on the bottom right, atop a gold foil tile.
